Why We Need Your Talents:

 

The Vice President Finance serves as a strategic business partner for the Chief Financial Officer and is accountable and responsible for the leadership, management, performance and operation of the finance departments of Accounting, Revenue Audit, Purchasing & Warehouse, Drop & Count operations, and Casino Cage operations.

 

This role is 100% on-site and based at our Hanover, MD property. Hybrid or remote work options are not available for this position.

Responsibilities

Where You'll Make an Impact:

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while implementing succession planning strategies to ensure leadership continuity and organizational success.
  • Responsible for managing, developing, planning, and implementing procedures for overall efficient operations.
  • Lead the standardization of policies, procedures, and internal controls across the Finance Division to improve operational consistency and strengthen audit performance, both internal and external.
  • Proven experience with a demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and drive strategic initiatives to completion.
  • Manages and is accountable for cash disbursement and controls for the Cage operations.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of purchasing, warehouse, and inventory control operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Supports, promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards.
  • Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the executive leadership team and shared services to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective cross-functional support.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a high-performance culture focused on growth, continuous development, and long-term leadership readiness.
  • Oversee financial reporting processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of financial statements to the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Serve as an active executive presence and ambassador within the community, strengthening the organization’s external relationships and reputation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills to Help You Succeed:

 

  • Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment.
  • Excellent technical computer skills, including Microsoft suite, general ledger and financial reporting packages and other standard gaming industry systems/software packages.
  • Must be able to work in an open dialogue environment with a competitive spirit.
  • Knowledge of state and local tax laws, gaming laws, and banking regulations.
  • Demonstrates geographic flexibility in alignment with career progression goals.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in progressive leadership roles in accounting and finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • An advanced degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
  • Gaming industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license for the position as determined by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
