Senior UI/UX Designer 

 

Position Summary  

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Senior UI/UX Designers to join our dynamic Design team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in leading user experience initiatives, crafting elegant and functional interfaces, and driving design excellence across digital platforms. They must be strategic thinkers with a strong design portfolio, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for solving complex problems through user-centered design. 

Senior Designers lead the design of digital experiences by taking a user-centered approach to align user needs with business strategy. They guide team-level designers to iteratively enhance the user experience throughout the entire user journey. 

Key Areas of Responsibility 

  • Drive end-to-end UX design initiatives, from discovery through delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs 

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to define product vision, requirements, and user flows 

  • Create high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally robust 

  • Develop user journey maps and personas at the product level 

  • Conduct and participate in user research, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations to inform design decisions 

  • Compile market research and voice-of-the-customer/user reports 

  • Contribute to and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across products 

  • Present design concepts and deliverables to internal teams and executive stakeholders, clearly articulating rationale and user impact 

  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and design excellence 

 

Product Strategy, Vision, and Planning 

  • Apply human-centered design methods (e.g., design thinking, research/insights) to plan, create, and present strategic design ideas that shape product strategy and roadmap 

  • Engage in product planning with Product Managers to develop an experience-based long-term vision 

 

Customer Experience Research, Insights, and Execution 

  • Conduct competitive analysis of direct and indirect competitors and monitor emerging market trends to guide research and design decisions 

  • Collaborate with team designers to analyze research insights and make informed design decisions that address user needs and support business goals 

 

Go-to-Market and Sales 

  • Lead cross-functional human-centered design sessions to build empathy for users, align on customer pain points, and prioritize the product roadmap 

  • Collaborate with enabling functions (e.g., marketing, sales, operations) to assess experience performance and identify opportunities for optimization 

 

Product Design and Development 

  • Translate business, contractual, technical, and user needs into comprehensive, accessible, inclusive, and compliant digital experiences 

  • Design omni-channel experiences that are user-friendly, empathetic, and promote customer satisfaction and product adoption 

  • Work with designers to deliver user-centered solutions validated through experimentation and testing 

  • Champion design system use and extend platform capabilities to uphold standards and reusability 

  • Establish and promote design best practices and methodologies for team use 

 

Channel Alignment / Management 

  • Ensure alignment of design elements with the Candescent brand across all touchpoints, working with designers and support teams to maintain consistency 

Performance Measurement and Optimization 

  • Collect, analyze, monitor, and report user feedback to identify trends and insights that drive strategy and continuous improvement 

 

Basic Qualifications 

 

  • BS/MS in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field 

  • 10+ years of proven UX/UI design experience across platforms (desktop, mobile, tablet) 

  • Strong portfolio showcasing demonstrable UX/UI design skills, including case studies that demonstrate your design thinking and problem-solving approach 

  • Proficient in industry-standard tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Axure, and other prototyping and wireframing tools 

  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, responsive design, and interaction design best practices 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and collaborate across teams 

  • Familiarity with front-end development processes (HTML, CSS) and motion design principles is a plus 

  • Fluent in English and ability to work effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in agile development environments 

  • Background in enterprise software or fintech 

  • Knowledge of Design Thinking and experience facilitating workshops 

  • Expertise in coaching on UX/UI design tools and methods (e.g., prototyping, usability testing) 

  • Deep understanding of market design trends and a mindset of continuous learning 

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence product stakeholders 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a user-focused mindset
