The Senior Sales Forecast & Trade Analyst is a highly analytical, detail-oriented individual who will own our retail forecasting system and lead our trade promotional planning efforts. This role is central to our Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process and will serve as a strategic partner to our Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance teams. Reporting directly to the Director of Category Management and Sales Planning, this role will play a critical part in driving forecast accuracy and promotional visibility across the organization. The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of CPG forecasting and trade planning experience and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a broad and complex SKU base. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining customer-level forecasts, driving visibility and accuracy in trade events, and ensuring all distribution and promotion inputs are captured and translated into actionable demand plans. This role is a full-time (40 hr/wk) paid, salaried, exempt, remote position. The compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $105,000 USD/year.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end forecasting process and serve as the internal expert on our forecasting system, from setting up new items and customer forecasts to maintaining baseline assumptions and managing promotional lifts.
- Develop and maintain
accurate demand forecasts across retail accounts using syndicated data (SPINS, Nielsen), retailer portals, and sales inputs.
- Build collaborative forecasting partnerships with each Sales Lead to capture new distribution, trade events, and resets.
- Leverage syndicated data to develop fact-based lift assumptions across event types.
- Translate retailer-level promotional plans into volume forecasts with clear assumptions.
- Integrate all forecast and trade data into our monthly SIOP process in partnership with the Supply Chain team.
- Track and manage trade promotional plans, including post-event ROI analysis and forecast accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Analytics, and Supply Chain teams to support inventory planning and revenue forecasting.
- Build reports and dashboards to visualize trends, gaps, and opportunities across accounts and product lines.
- Support quarterly and annual planning processes.
- Present forecast updates and insights to internal stakeholders in a clear and action-oriented manner.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement in forecasting methods, inputs, and system usage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field or equivalent experience .
- 4+ years’ experience in sales forecasting, demand planning, or trade management within the CPG industry.
- Direct hands-on experience with one or more leading forecasting and trade systems such as Confido, Vividly, CPGvision, UpClear, or similar.
- Advanced Excel and data modeling skills; comfort managing high-SKU environments.
- Strong understanding of retail promotional mechanics (TPRs, displays, new item launches).
- Hands-on experience with SIOP or IBP (Integrated Business Planning) processes.
- Comfortable navigating syndicated data (Nielsen, SPINS) and retailer portals.
- Strong communicator with experience presenting data-driven narratives to senior leaders.
- Attention to detail and a passion for turning messy data into clean insights.
- Comfortable working in a remote environment.
- Highly organized and task-oriented.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule if and when required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- This role involves sitting most of the time, but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
