About this role: Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Manager, Accounting is responsible for performing several activities within the accounting function, particularly relating to the monthly close and and external reporting packages. The position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of financial information while also ensuring that adequate controls are in place and operating effectively. 

LOCATION: This role can be located within a 3 hour drive to the Atlanta metro area. This is a Remote role but will require the incumbent to come to the Corporate Office for meetings & trainings periodically.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform and review accounting duties related to month-end close, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, and external reporting packages ensuring strict compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Assist in management of global closing calendar, internal reporting,  and internal control requirements, including adherence to timelines
  • Act as subject matter expert regarding assigned areas of responsibility including, but not limited to lease accounting, inventory and cost accounting, and revenue.
  • Supervises, delegates, and reviews the work of subordinates.  
  • Proactively identify issues, drive continuous improvement, and optimize and automate processes/systems.
  • Builds an effective and efficient team by evaluating, staffing, and growing the team's capabilities and competencies.
  • Perform technical accounting research and assist in documentation and determination of conclusion for management review.

Required skills and qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience with 1-2 years of public company experience required
  • 2 years of public accounting experience or internal audit experienced required
  • CPA license
  • Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills, including development of reporting packages
  • Process re-engineering experience including business process outsourcing to 3rd Party vendors
  • Strong technical accounting understanding and implementation
