TITLE: Philanthropy Intern

ORGANIZATION: Colorectal Cancer Alliance

LOCATION: Remote

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Non-Exempt 

TIMEFRAME/HOURS PER WEEK: Fall 2025 Internship (end date Dec 19, 2025) / 20 hours per week

REPORTS TO: Major Gifts Officer

COMPENSATION: $20 per hour pay rate.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? The Philanthropy Intern will be an important member of the Alliance’s Philanthropy Team, gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and strategic communications. You’ll help advance our major gifts program, connect with inspiring supporters, and learn the inner workings of a high-performing national nonprofit.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct research on prospective and current major donors to help shape engagement strategies.
  • Support accurate, timely data entry and database management.
  • Assist in creating donor communications, proposals, and stewardship materials that inspire giving.
  • Help maintain donor files, research summaries, and tracking systems.
  • Provide administrative support for donor outreach, meetings, and events.
  • Shadow and collaborate with team members on special projects that advance our mission.

Who You Are

  • Strong writer and communicator with excellent attention to detail.
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (CRM database experience is a plus).
  • Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information.
  • Passionate about nonprofit work, philanthropy, or healthcare advocacy.
