Wellfleet, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, seeks an experienced Auditor to support the Wellfleet Legal Team.

This position will develop and implement internal audit practices and processes, maintain TPA (third party administrator) audit practices to protect company assets and ensure operational efficiency. The Auditor will be responsible for reviewing the company’s internal controls, risk management and processes to ensure compliance and identify inefficiencies. This position will also be responsible for executing and/or managing audits and special projects from the annual audit plan. The Auditor will consult business management to provide recommendations and contribute to the annual risk assessment process.

In this role, you will…

  • Conduct TPA audits, internal reviews, and other special projects
  • Understand, analyze, document, and evaluate key business processes and internal controls
  • Evaluate potential risks across different departments and processes, identifying gaps/vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs
  • Perform data analysis trends to determine root cause of identified issues
  • Prepare audit workpapers that identifies testing performed, findings and recommendations including root-cause analysis, corrective action plan
  • Collaborate with Business partners, TPAs, colleagues on assignments   
  • Conduct process walkthroughs, kick-off, and exit meetings
  • Write findings, corrective action plans, and communicate recommendations for process improvements 
  • Assist with insurance carrier, Berkshire Hathaway, and MedPro Group audit requests
  • Conduct off-site reviews at external partners and third-party vendors
  • Promote ethical behavior within the organization and help to proactively identify processes or behaviors that pose a risk
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for candidates with…

  • BA or BS degree in accounting, finance, or related business field with 3+ years of experience in internal/external auditing, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years working in healthcare or the health insurance industry, is preferred
  • Certified with a CPA, CIA, CISA, etc. or actively progressing towards a designation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that foster productive working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, with very little supervisory direction
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both internal and cross department team members
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform detail-oriented tasks with a high commitment to quality
  • Possess critical thinking skills with proven ability to identify and analyze complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options to implement solutions
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, PPT)
  • Demonstrated experience with data mining/query/process flow tools (e.g., Access, SQL, ACL, Visio)
  • Ability to adapt and pivot when presented with new situations and priorities
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Curious and enthusiastic about expanding skills through learning and development

The annual gross base salary range is $80,000 to $85,000. This range anticipates the low and high end of the salary for this position.
