**Location: Although the work is remote, candidates must be located in Florida, preferably South Florida (Boca Raton / Fort Lauderdale / Miami / Palm Beach / etc.)

CatLady.com is a fast-growing, values-driven ecommerce company that includes CatLadyBox, Spoiled Cats Club, and our expanding ecomm shop. We have a strong community, a fun voice, and loyal customers who love their cats (and our brand) fiercely. We’re lean, scrappy, and passionate about building something meaningful. We move fast, figure it out, and make it happen.


This isn’t a typical director-level job where you inherit a team and manage spreadsheets all day. You’ll be helping to build the marketing engine, grow the team, and lead execution across all channels. You’ll work directly with the founder (who owns overall brand, strategy, and voice) to translate strategy into traction. We need a smart, motivated operator who knows how to turn plans into results — someone who gets things done, learns fast, and thrives in ambiguity.

What You’ll Do:

?     Identify marketing team needs, define roles, and hire the right people (starting with skilled contractors). This is the top priority. Nothing moves without a team.

?     Build and manage a high-performance team — lead with clarity, speed, and accountability.

?     Own execution of marketing initiatives across paid, email, retention — and lead the planning, setup, and launch of affiliate, loyalty, and referral programs (tools are in place, they just need to be brought to life).

?     Roll up your sleeves and drive real output: campaign launches, email workflows, A/B tests, optimization, etc.

?     Manage and scale our paid media (Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.).

?     Grow and refine the email marketing machine (Klaviyo).

?     Own marketing KPIs and reporting — performance, spend, ROI.

?     Partner cross-functionally with creative, customer support, and ops.

?     Systematize repeatable, scalable marketing ops: timelines, briefs, planning.

?     Constantly test, learn, optimize.


What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days:

?     Scope and onboard 2–3 skilled contractors in high-impact areas.

?     Launch at least one new channel or program (email flow, paid campaign, affiliate, etc.).

?     Implement basic systems and workflows to keep marketing moving and aligned.


What We’re Looking For:

?     5+ years in ecommerce/DTC marketing with proven traction in scaling brands — this is a must.

?     Experience in subscription-based models (digital or physical) is a strong bonus.

?     Strong in both digital marketing AND execution.

?     You’ve hired before — great contractors, great employees — and know how to build a team quickly and intentionally.

?     Skilled at quickly scoping, resourcing, and executing marketing needs through the right people.

?     Experience working directly with founders and small teams — you thrive in a high-ownership, resourceful environment.

?     A builder mentality: zero-to-one, team-of-one, MVP-first thinking.

?     Obsessed with improvement: you read, test, tweak, and learn constantly.

?     Action-biased and deadline-driven — you love checking things off.

?     Data-savvy but not paralyzed by it.

?     Direct, resourceful communicator who takes initiative.

?     Strong eye for design — you know good creative when you see it and aren't afraid to dive into Canva, CapCut, or similar tools to get something done.

?     Great people instincts and team leadership style that balances no-bullshit clarity with genuine support.


Bonus Points:

?     Subscription box or multi-channel ecommerce experience.

?     Based in South Florida.

?     Solid creative instincts (briefing, reviewing, or creating quick-turn assets).

?     Performance marketing nerd (deep understanding of paid acquisition and lifecycle).

?     You’re a cat person — or at least, you get us.
