Summary/Objective:
Identify, ingest, review, and verify accuracy of timely, quality data from clients, utility providers, and internal teams. Implement data standards and deploy automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data from different sources and transform data into usable metrics. Responsible for validating utility bill data capture, client profile setup, and comprehensive reporting for our clients. This role involves both manual entry of bills from non-automated channels and validation of data from automated channels. The Data Quality Analyst I ensures all data is accurate, client profiles are correctly configured to meet reporting and accounting needs, and that accounting receives timely information in order to process payments on time. The Analyst I also maintains online credentials with utility providers and third-party platforms, enabling streamlined data capture and payment management. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can perform complex processes, maintain data integrity, and provide clients with accurate and actionable utility data insights. 
 

The Data Quality Analyst I work is closely managed. They work on matters of limited complexity and are expected to resolve routine problems independently. 

Responsibilities:  

Utility Bill Processing and Data Entry: 

  • Manually enter utility bills received through non-automated channels, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 
  • Validate and perform data checks on information captured from automated channels to maintain data integrity. 
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies or anomalies in billing information, collaborating with utility providers as necessary. 

 

Client Profile Configuration: 

  • Set up and configure client profiles in the billing system, including location, accounting details such as cost centers, general ledger (GL) codes, and expense splits. 
  • Establish and maintain online credentials with utility providers and third-party platforms, such as Arcadia, to facilitate efficient data capture and payment processing. 
  • Ensure client profiles are accurately aligned with financial reporting requirements and any specific client directives. 

 

Data Capture and Analysis: 

  • Capture and record essential utility data, including consumption, charges, and additional metrics, into the company’s data management system. 
  • Maintain data accuracy to support downstream accounting and consumption reporting. 

 

Report Generation: 

  • Compile and produce accounting reports to support clients’ and internal requirements. 
  • Apply standardized data processes to prepare, analyze, and report data for clients and other departments
    ensuring consistency and accurate, up-to-date information across the company.
     

 

Client Support and Collaboration: 

  • Communicate with the Client Experience Officers to address inquiries, clarify data, and provide detailed explanations of reports and account setups. 
  • Work with utility providers and third-party platforms to resolve issues with billing, data discrepancies, or online credentials. 

 

Process Improvement and Compliance: 

  • Implement authorized improvements to data entry, data quality, invoicing, and client configuration processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal protocols, data management standards, and client confidentiality policies.

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Proficiency in data management systems, business intelligence, or other data reporting. 
  • Intermediate Excel skills. 
  • Strong analytical abilities, keen attention to detail, and problem-solving attitude.  
  • Excellent communication and client management skills. 
  • Familiarity with Metabase. 
  • Familiarity with Tableau. 

 

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with utility billing software, online credential management with utility providers, or third-party platforms like Arcadia. 
  • Familiarity with accounting principles, cost centers, GL codes, and financial reporting requirements. 


 

Education and Experience: 

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field OR equivalent work experience. 
  • One
    year of experience in reporting, data management, business intelligence, or financial analysis, preferably in utility billing or energy services.
     


 

Working Conditions:  

  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer. 

 

Pay Range: Data Quality Analyst I
$50,000 - $62,000 annually
