Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE:

The Associate Business Analyst/Developer role is a position performing analysis, problem-solving, report writing, training, and documenting processes alongside Alphia’s internal IT professionals, and for Alphia’s business partners. This role will serve as a support position for various members of the Alphia IT team by learning and understanding the business processes and requirements of the system at a depth sufficient to assist with testing, documenting, developing, and implementing the appropriate solutions or modifications.  This role will participate in requirements gathering, process flowing, coding, creating SOP’s, and rolling out solutions following the highest standards of professionalism. 

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Participate in all aspects of IT processes as required.  This includes participating in requirements gathering, documenting, development, testing, Change Control, implementing, training, and supporting various system as business needs arise.

  • Work alongside other Business Analysts or Developers and assist in any assigned IT tasks. 
  • Build and execute unit / end to end testing (build test cases, perform tests, and make changes to configuration or processes based on results)
  • Performing analysis either in Excel, SQL, or other tools to determine issues or validate solutions.
  • Communicate with Alphia team members to coordinate information exchange for support of systems changes
  • Learn to develop reports and queries in support of business needs
  • Perform problem solving/data detective skills as issues arise to aid in solving help desk tickets.
  • Conduct job duties and responsibilities according to Alphia’s business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • You are a recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related major.
  • Will need excellent collaborative and teamwork skills.
  • Will need exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A quick study – ability to quickly learn Alphia’s business standards and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Ability to work remotely and stay on task
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to perform SQL query development
  • Ability to navigate Excel spreadsheets: formulas and pivot tables
  • Experience in Crystal Reports development is a plus
  • Experience in business process flowcharting techniques (Visio/PowerPoint)

Education

  • Completed a College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science, Information System,  Business Systems or similar
