Position Purpose:
Analyzes financial reports and records, and prepares studies or recommendations relative to the accounting for leases, reserves, assets and exenditures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares and analyzes income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and various other accounting statements and reports.
- Reviews and verifies the accuracyof journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
- Instructs or assigns work to bookkeepers, accounting clerks and other associates engaged in general accounting activities.
- Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.
- Participates in financial reporting.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position typically reports to a Senior Staff Accounant.
- No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Examples include: telephone operator and file clerk.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
