What you’ll do:

We are looking for a motivated colleague to join our fast-growing Product Management team.  This team is charged with developing new and innovative insurance products as well as managing our growing and increasingly diversified national portfolio of admitted and surplus lines products.  More flexible and fast-paced than a traditional carrier, we are looking for an individual with an insurance background who is energized by a highly collaborative environment and is seeking opportunities to build products, process, and structure from the ground up!

As a Product Analyst, you will support the Director of Homeowners Product Strategy. You will partner with the Segment President and distribution teams to build new products & continuously innovate our current in-market products. You will conduct consumer and market analyses to get a strong understanding of market need & opportunities for differentiation & build business cases that include CBAs weighing various design choices. You will also work with delivery/IT and state product teams to turn these ideas into reality.

Successful candidates will have prior experience creating homeowners product enhancements and a foundational knowledge in the economics of homeowners P&L management. Additionally, you will have had prior experiences in launching or scaling products in market. This is a high visibility role with significant ability to affect change and MSI’s growth.

Roles are available at the Product Analyst or Senior Product Analyst; commensurate with the expertise, autonomy, and experience.

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct analyses of business results, marketplace trends, new market opportunities
  • Create data-driven recommendations based on analyses & understanding of business objectives
  • Create CBAs for new proposals, comprehensively synthesizing the opportunity & stakeholder needs, including the +/- of various design choices
  • Help create narratives around new product proposals to message to carriers and reinsurance partners, as applicable
  • Work with delivery/IT teams to scope out build requirements, understand tradeoffs in IT resourcing, and create launch timelines
  • Partner closely with LOB teams to aid in specific launch activities; create standard processes across states to promote speed and efficiency
  • Conduct post-implementation QC’ing and results evaluation for new launches. Work with segment leaders to interpret results & determine the “so what”

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in economics, business administration, mathematics/statistics, finance or other quantitative discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Related experience in insurance product management preferred.  Minimum 3 years of experience in the insurance industry
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Well organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Desire to solve problems, think analytically and move quickly to build new programs
  • High degree of flexibility and comfort responding to changing business needs
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work as a team player to deliver results effectively and efficiently to a variety of customers

Location:

  • Remote, with access to local Baldwin Group offices as desired
  • Travel occasionally for internal and external meetings
