Course: History of Design
This writing intensive course focuses on the history of visual arts, graphic design, and animation; genres of design; and the influence of artists, graphic artists, and animators through the ages. Emphasis is placed on the history of and current developments in the digital and information age. Technology requirement: Students provide their own laptop.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom
- Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes
- Respond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframes
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What You Will Bring:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Mass Communication, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Mass Communication, or a related field.
Additional Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of advertising theories, design principles, and campaign development.
- Understanding of Copyright, Trademark, and Intellectual Property, including ethics, laws, consequences, and content evaluation.
