In this role, you will lead strategic growth initiatives within the military and marine sectors, driving new revenue streams across both U.S. and global markets. You will manage a small sales team, develop and execute commercial strategies, and work closely with engineering, operations, and customer service teams to deliver exceptional solutions. Your work will involve identifying market opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and creating new applications for high-value products. This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic direction, collaborate with cross-functional leaders, and have a measurable impact on long-term business growth in a dynamic and technically driven environment.

Accountabilities

As Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Direct sales activities and strategic planning for Regional Sales Managers, ensuring market expertise in their territories.
  • Engage leads, convert opportunities, and consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets.
  • Conduct market research using multiple intelligence sources to identify gaps, trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop product specifications for new applications and solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring customer feedback informs strategy and product development.
  • Oversee account onboarding in coordination with customer service and compliance teams.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts and market share development plans.
  • Drive global business development initiatives, including identifying synergies with related businesses.

Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally to meet with clients and prospects.



Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or business development, including direct technical sales.
  • 3–5 years’ managerial experience leading sales teams.
  • Prior military experience and familiarity with U.S. and foreign defense programs, platforms, and acquisition processes (highly desirable).
  • Ability to obtain necessary credentials for access to military and commercial shipyards, and a valid passport for international travel.
  • Proven success in consultative selling within complex sales cycles, with a track record of building new customer bases.
  • Strong technical product knowledge, industry awareness, and ability to identify unspoken customer needs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior decision-makers.
