We are looking for a Business Architect - Microsoft 365 Generative AI Compete to lead our global go-to-market (GTM) Compete strategy for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio, driving growth across all customer segments. This role will require a mix of product strategy, partner ecosystem understanding, channel orchestration, deal-making and tight alignment with engineering, field sales, sales enablement & operations and marketing organizations. This position will play a leadership role in accelerating Microsoft’s AI Workforce priorities with high executive visibility, ownership of strategic priorities, and the opportunity to define how the next generation of Microsoft AI Business Solutions experiences are delivered. 

To be successful, you must be able to function at an executive level, building and orchestrating the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy across all relevant sales channels, growing Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio new customer acquisition, expansion, and upsell motion. This will require the formulation of both long-term business strategies and month-to-month execution plans aligned with AI Business Solutions business priorities, delivering revenue and new customer growth across all sales channels. 

As part of the Commercial Solutions Areas (CSA) Go-To-Market team for AI Business Solutions, the Compete Business Architect’s primary responsibility is to drive our global AI Business Solutions Go-To-Market (GTM) compete efforts through our field sales teams, partners and our digital engines. This role will develop, land, and refine Compete framework models, innovating how we acquire, engage, and grow customers, enabling scale and digital engines with strategies, sales methodology, integrated sales, marketing campaigns and programs.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.

Develop and refine our Compete strategy 

  • Define and develop the GTM Compete strategy for AI Workforce Solutions across customer segments. This means: 
    • Establish the framework that will serve as the basis of compete against top tier competitors and how we differentiate. 
    • Obtain deep understanding of customer needs and pain points. 
    • Consolidate best practice wins and develop the win formula against each Tier 1 competitor 
    • Leverage data to customize sales engines with compete strategy and improve retention. 
    • Build and lead our compete Center of Excellence in collaboration with stakeholders.  

Sales enablement 

  • The compete BA will align the compete Marketing assets to the overall sales approach and playcard to ensure sellers understand what available tools we have and how to optimize usage to gain value 
  • Create commercial initiativestools and special empowerments aligned to compete efforts both in defense and offense plays 
  • Align the Partner ecosystem on our efforts and plan for performance initiatives with GPS/BG 
  • Land through the Compete Center of excellence our approach to deal-making, creating an agile framework to flow deals to proven solutions 
  • Train field on latest and most relevant compete programs, assets, initiatives and campaigns 

Rhythm of Business (ROB) 

  • Receive and prioritize asks coming from our business reviews and engage with cross-functional teams to resolveProvide updates/insights back to corresponding requestors.    

Collaboration  

Integral virtual-team member to establish customer outcomes at the center of every solution. The Business Architect will work with:  

    • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Marketing, Operations, Product) to align strategic initiatives with business objectives. 
    • Facilitate strategic planning sessions with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and execution plans. 
    • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to drive consensus and enable smooth implementation of strategic programs. 
    • Coordinate with project managers and functional leads to ensure timely delivery of strategic initiatives and resolve interdependencies. 
    • Act as a liaison between executive leadership and operational teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on goals. 
    • Lead cross-functional working groups to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.  

Intelligence 

  • Establish workstream with analytics and insights teams to interpret data and translate findings into actionable business strategies. 
  • Own development of market KPIs and build initiatives to counter 
  • Land in field latest compete intelligence reports and educate how to take action from insights.

Required/Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 5years experience in go-to-market, business strategy, sales, sales operations, account management, business development, marketing, or a related field. 
    • OR equivalent experience. 
  • 6years experience in Near Term Strategy (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance.

 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ experience in go-to-market, business strategy, sales, sales operations, account management, business development, marketing, or a related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years experience in go-to-market, business strategy, sales, sales operations, account management, business development, marketing, or a related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience across partner sales, partner development, or channel marketing 
  • 3+ years experience handling market data and analytics Business Intelligence development  
  • Domain knowledge/expertise in Generative AI and main players in the market with competitive advantages of each solution 
  • Understanding of take-out and defend deal strategies  
  • Ability to understand strategic implications of change, train cross-functional teams, and provide leadership to overcome barriers and achieve results through individual and broader team efforts. 

 

Sales Strategy Enablement IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
